Is it true that video tapes degrade after 20 years?
That's what I hear, but I simply check several VHS tapes who are over 20 years and are doing well. I wonder if this is true or if it is a hoax by the Manufacturers to go buy more DVD or DVD, you can use to VHS transfer.
Yes, certainly there is a degradation of the band ... depending on the amount of use of ... Tape Storage ... , Etc., etc., etc. We'll start to notice that monitoring does not seem to ... the track sounds warble (a bit like being underwater or something) ... or you have to put the volume louder to hear sound ... then the image starts to degrade AA. I have to leave some old VHS movies that have been degraded to the point where they no longer play on my player video. Regarding the transfer from VHS to DVD ... Some machines allow you to do this ... However, you are getting a shipment of fairly low quality tapes DVD to bad news and fresh. (Unless you have some team of professionals well that can digitally transfer a recording on a tape Analog VHS to DVD.)
