Close up with Vagina Herpes Pictures

Research shows that herpes is prevalent, and a little over sixteen percent of people below 50 years old have genital HSV2 infection, and females are more affected. Twenty percent of women below fifty years old have contracted HSV2, while only eleven percent of men below fifty have herpes. Research also shows that man to woman transmission is more likely than the other way around.
The virus that causes herpes is similar to the virus that causes cold sores. HSV1 causes cold sores, while HSV2 causes genital herpes. Vaginal herpes can occur if a woman engages in intercourse with an infected man. Vagina herpes pictures may show outbreaks on the outer regions of the vagina, but there may be variations in the manifestation of sores among different female patients.
Patients may not recognize the signs of an infection even if they are already suffering from it, but the initial infection is generally difficult to ignore as the symptoms are noticeable. The initial outbreak occurs within two weeks after the transmission of the virus, and it takes about two or three weeks for the blisters to heal.
Herpes treatment can hasten the duration of the infection and reduce the gravity of the symptoms. Medications for herpes include antiviral drugs and painkillers. Some patients need regular medication to stop the infection from recurring. Vaginal herpes can recur at some point in the future, but recurrences can be reduced through proper drug therapy.
