Herpes treatment should not be postponed

By tgon1563 On August 23, 2009 Under Herpes Information

Put in simple words, herpes could be defined as an infection caused by herpes simples virus. Oral herpes leads to cold sores in and around the mouth and on the face. Genital herpes, as the name suggests leads to infection in the genital area, that is the penile, vaginal, or the anal region and are normally transmitted sexually from one person to another. Herpes becomes easier to manage if there are symptoms and the affected person can be isolated so that others do not contract the infection. In certain cases, there are no sores at all and yet a person can infect the other person. Common type such transmission is when an expectant mother can infect her child at the time of delivery, which can be quite dangerous as the new born will not be in a position to resist the onslaught of this infection.

There is no specific cure for herpes as such, but with certain treatments the intensity can be brought down and further outbreak of the infection can be controlled or stopped. Topical creams can give some relief but they do not cure the infection altogether. A person with low immunity can get attacked by herpes a number of times and one may hope that the frequency will reduce with passage of time The serious cases of herpes can cause severe redness, painful blisters due to scratching, can become very itchy. Doctors too prescribe medicines to reduce or minimize the outbreak or the intensity of the problem. There are some natural remedies too which give your relief from herpes and ensure that the outbreak is controlled in due course.
