Male Herpes Pictures

According to sexually-transmitted disease specialists, genital herpes is commonly brought forth by two viruses which belong to the Herpes virus family. HSV-type 2 and by HSV-type 1 virus are generally responsible for an estimated 5 to 10% of all genital herpes cases reported. These two HSV variants are usually transmitted through some form of sexual intercourse.  Common herpes symptoms in both male and female victim include the appearance of painful and itchy blisters in the genital region anus, thighs, mouth and face.  Most male herpes pictures shown in books or online sources show how the virus enters the body, as well as graphically demonstrate the extent of damage it can cause.   It is estimated that the overall incidence of genital herpes is thought to be in 1 out of 1,000 individuals.

Since herpes is commonly transmitted by infected saliva or oral and genital mucosa, the infection’s main lesions usually appear at the initial area of virus contact.  In viewing most male herpes pictures,   the fluid-filled blisters, swelling and sores commonly show up at the shaft and head of the penis, the scrotum, inner thighs, as well as on the anus.  Once the person is afflicted, the HSV-type 2 virus dwells in the body for the rest of the individual’s life.  This helps to explain why some people have several recurrent episodes in a year, while some will never experience another episode again.  For people who have fairly normal immune systems, the herpes virus will however remain to be a localized but still slightly less-bothersome, which most often will not be life-threatening anyway.

While most male herpes pictures show graphic portrayals of the HSV- viruses’ external damage on a person, there may be some who are totally unaware that they harbor the virus, which will unknowingly lead them to pass it on to their partners during sexual intercourse.  Health researchers indicate that as much as 25% of adults in the United States are believed to be infected with the HSV- type 2, and the same study indicates that those affected but are unaware of it, may have the virus hiding in their genital tracts, and will not exhibit any of the usual symptoms.
