Starting Stages of Herpes

Many people may or may not know that they have been infected by the herpes virus as HSV sometimes may not present symptoms. Herpes Simplex Virus is transmitted through skin contact with an infected individual. After two to twenty days after contagion, a person may experience the starting stages of herpes. If you have some sort of unusual skin irritation that is itchy and reddening, you must visit your doctor to have a clear look of the possible causes and provide possible treatment for the condition.

In the very onset or starting stages of herpes, it is very important that you know how to combat the virus before it worsen and make an outbreak. Not all people infected with the virus may experience the infection on the same degree but it does follow common stages. These general stages will give you a hint whether you have the virus of just minor skin irritation is present in the skin or different parts of your body. A person infected with herpes simplex virus may or may experience a flu-like symptom at the very first onset of infection but then again, one should be cautious about this possible symptom of herpes virus.

In various areas in the skin affected, an itchiness and reddening are noticed which may be sore to lay a hand on. These areas may begin to swell up. Small blisters may start to develop during the onset of outbreak which will rip open draining its fluid. These wet ulcers will then scab over as it dries up forming a new skin underneath the scab. The scab will fall off naturally giving and a new skin in exposed. You should not peel the scab to avoid having an open wound that will leave a scar where usually scabs do not. You can use anti-itching solutions to relieve the itchiness during the shedding stages of herpes.

There are wide assortments of herpes treatments both topical and generic prescription medications you should have to prevent further complications. One must also learn to identify the symptoms and the starting stages of herpes to easily control the outbreak of herpes virus and easily facilitate the healing process.
