What Triggers Herpes (Herpes treatment) Simplex Outbreaks
Many theories exist to explain what wakes the sleeping virus up in our bodies, but exactly what causes continuing outbreaks remains a mystery. There are certain reasons why Herpes Simplex awakens from its sleeping state deep within the body and reappears on the skin s surface.
Outbreaks may depend on the individual, their general state of health, and their exposure to things and situations that can trigger an outbreak. The immune system must function well and physical and mental stresses be kept at a manageable level if herpes is to be kept under control.
The following are the most common situations that have been found to trigger a Herpes Simplex outbreak:
Foods high in arginine. People with Herpes Simplex should avoid foods hign in arginine i.e Peanuts, chocolate
Ultraviolet light. UV-B has been noted as a trigger of facial herpes. Exposure to sunlight, particularly on hot days where UV rays are the strongest. Sunscreen with UVB filters should be used by people with Herpes simplex.
Increased internal acidity. People who have high stress levels or indulge in foods that contribute to an over-acidic condition in the body suffer with Herpes outbreaks more frequently. Some of these foods include sugar, white bread, and other highly refined foods.
Illness or disease. With the immune system fighting off other diseases, it can become weak, giving the Herpes Simplex an opportunity to reappear. Often when one has the flu an outbreak of facial herpes occurs because the immune system is depleted.
Stress. Emotional stress can awaken the sleeping Herpes Simplex all by itself. The biggest factor responsible for repeated and frequent outbreaks is stress. One of the effects of stress is that it suppresses the body s natural antiviral agent, and everyday stress curbs the body s ability to make the antibodies it needs to fight the sickness.
Menstruation. The hormone changes in a woman s body may make them more susceptible to outbreaks.
Intense physical activity. Depending upon current physical condition and stamina level, strenuous exercise depletes the body s resources.
Aggravation to the skin. Outbreaks are known to appear at the same place the outbreak started at. Dental procedures can trigger outbreaks for some people with herpes.
Increased moisture or friction. Which occur during sexual intercourse.
